   Excellent shot, John!! The crisp details on the blacks, the whites and the midtones, speaks of great camera and pp work! Well composed and great timing: a moment well captured!

   i have tried this as a vaalie and not to great i used the sigma 500 but you got this nicely with the 400.

     Thanks for that Mike. I used a
     120-400 Sigma DG 5.6 APO lense with optiical Stabilizer. & a manfratio
     mono pod.on the Nikon D-300
     Hope this was some help to you. I only got this lens last year, I don’t use it as much as I would like,for the cost of it. The same nikon lens was just over 2000 euros. all the best

   always difficult to get the light right with a black subject. you did great
