Hey there Dear Camerazzi People!! Due to my Mother’s illness,I’ve been away for some time, but kept the shutter clicking when I had an opportunity. I’m now going through my photos, discarding most and submitting some and learning to negotiate this new web sight, LOL! My first attempt resulted in me posting with no pic!! You’ve all submitted such beautiful photos!! Thanks for all the inspiration. Here’s my first submition… (taking a deep breath)

    Welcome back Erica,
lovely sunset with some cosmos in the front. With the flash for a fill in just to light up the cosmos, it would look lovely. What is the exif data, did you zoom in a lot? Due to the short DOF, the sunset is out of focus, a bit distracting. Thanks for sharing, growing up in the Free State, living in the Lowveld, I do miss them kosmos.

Thanks for the comment Le Grange :) I tried with a flash and it seemed to lose some of the atmospheric ‘feel to it’ I focused on the flower and the sunset light playing through it’s petals, not the sunset. I wanted the sunset to remain in the background….. but being still very much an amateur, I probably got the whole lot wrong. I guess I should have worked the exposure a bit, but it was a windy day, so the flowers would’ve ended up blurring with a higher exposure?

Go and edit your post again. Right bottom is “set thumbnail” click on it, find your photo, remove the name and the link. Click on 115×115 and click “set as thumbnail” and check in the background right bottom if you can see the thumbnail appearing. Good luck.

i would like a bit more light i would go for a longer ex as flash would remove the colour unless you used a gel.
