Great image Johan. I have never tried this myself. Just a pity about the bright light in the lower right corner. With long exposures one must be carefull of any ambient light.
There was a couple of us with torches, doing the painting. Some of the torches were brighter than others which made it difficult to get it nice and even.
Well done Johan. I believe that by now you know how star trials eats a battery. You will have your best success on slide film with a 4 hour exposure and then scan it in. Get as high as you can, point your camera 100% South and you will clearly get the axis where the stars form a complete circle.
This is a very good shot, Johan. I do agree with Ben that the brightly lit area in the bottom right is actually distractive. The light on the rest of the church is excellent and I love the way in which the light frames the leafy edges in the top right.
Aww the light at the bottom rhs is not soooo bad guys…given that there were light from fellow togs, I think Johan did exceptionally well here and hopefully one day I can submit some star trail images
