Hallo Ben, I love this shot, however I think the tree branches on the left is a bit distracting and a little bit too much foreground which put the boat slap dash in the middle. When cropping the tree out and taking foreground away, there is more focus on the boat.
Thanks Faan and Amelia. Yip there are a few scary places in New Zealand. Actually I was just playing around with PShop CS5 and not really thinking of composition etc.
It’s an interesting image Ben. They don’t make steam boats any more. they still have a few in the states. I have ps CS5 as well. It takes a bit of time to get use to. yet I think it is the best to date, once you get the hang of it, things get easyer. well done all the same. you got the boat OK. I don’t know about the sky color. all the best

Hi John, thanks. Yes I agree PSCS5 is great. I was just messing about. Go to image in PS and change the mode to a 32bit image and then change back to 8bits – see what happens.
Beautiful Ben and the paddle steamer’s name “Rotorua” brought back some nice memories for me. Strange place Rotorua with its geysers and bubbling mud.

Yea I can see Ben
you were much too hard on the sharpening – I don’t believe the halo on the mountain is part of the surreal light…
Nay Pikkie – the halo on the mountain is not from sharpening – its magic light!
mmmm…like the blue bands around the tops of the poles
aagh, it’s a nice pic Ben, just missing the Hobbits.
