Lady bug drinking water from a waterdrop on a flower petal
This was shot with the reverse lens tecnique where you attatch your lens the other way around (cheap way of shooting super macro).
Canon eos 350D was used, and natural light
i would remove the bit of flower from the right, good detail and lighting
Super macro Bjorn. Good detail, exposure and compo. Could do with a bit more sharpening.
I agree with Mike. I also feel that the image is a little bit overexposed. Maybe 1/2 a stop. And that would add more shadow to the “face” which is also not good. Would like a different angle on this.
Agree w/Mike on the right side. My main crit would be the loss of detail on the specific area you want to show (as per title)showing the drinking action – some light from the lower left would have helped – small reflector or fill flash. Its good to walk around with both a white card (reflector) and a black card (background) when hunting for these type of shots.
Amazing how I learn from comments made on any photos (not only my own). I look at the pic, mentally critique it myself, and then look at the comments made. Then I see things which I did not notice before.
My own crit on this pic is the bright reflection on her back. Maybe a softer contrast and some sharpening would do (after cropping).
