Where shutterbugs unite to share their wisdom, skills and resources

I posted these for Ashraf Safi – one of our FB page members who is very keen to get some objective comments from more togs than me only – please help us out here with some honest comments – thanx!
Hi Ashraf. Is that really the colour of the sun where you stay? I must admit it doesn’t look real to me and I like real. However the top one is dramatic and interesting and the lower one has a soft glow that I like.
That is the real colour and the picture has not been modified in anyway. The camera used was a FujiFilm Finepic S8000fd with no lenses. My own theory for years – Depending on the weather during the day….the sun always sets in different colours. For a red sun a thunderstorm is needed about an hour before sunset. When the weather clears – you will get a red sun. If you near big water like Kariba or the ocean – It will be dark orange!
out of all the bottom one appeals to me the most bit of pp work and i would be happy. the others just to red
What pp work would you recommend I do. All these pics are the originals.
No pp work confirmed: Ashraf sent me the original off-camera version of the top pic – exactly as the one here, no processing done to these. I have never seen the sunsets in Zeerust and closer to the kalahari, but according to Ashraf who lives in the area, stormy weather tends to produce this very red sunsets – quite interesting!
From Mike: Mike sent us the following lightroom re-works – Just an idea – how do you feel about them?
Looks even better now…how do you do that? Photoshop?
Hey Ashraf when I first saw these I thought “no ways is that natural.” Well now that I know it is – stunning colours well done for capturing them and sharing. The sun in the top picture is amazing.
Thank you guys for all your opinions – much appreciated. I just happened to be in the right place at the right with a camera in my hand. Hopefully I will get plenty more red suns!
