Hello Marie. Die komposisie van die eerste foto dink ek is goed. Wat my wel pla is die helder wit agtergrond. Vir my smaak, sou ek nie so n vlak “DOF” gebruik nie, maar die kenners mag dalk met my verskil.Die 2de foto is mooi skerp. Sal hom nie graag in my tuin wil he nie…lol
Nice macro Marie. Not enough DOF in the first image and as Pikkie said – the white b/g is distracting.
@nd image is sharp, well exposed but purhaps just a little tightly cropped.
As Pikkie L said, we may differ – coming to think of it, what a boring place would the world be if we all always agreed…. OK I differ about the white b/g being distracting! It is true that white spots or blops etc is usually a distraction in a background, but that is not what we have here – here it is almost half the available area and in shape and positioning, perfectly balances the picture with light vs darks divided along the diagonal. It also serves to allow mr Hairy’s hair to be seen as it is contrasted against the white.
I have mixed feelings about the DOF – tend to agree that it should be deeper but on the other hand like the ‘feel’ that it creates. I do agree that the picture (top) could be much sharper, at least in the focused areas.
Bottom one is crisp as the guys said and the dewdrops are great.
Both photos is in my book under-exposed in the blacks where it looses detail – I think you needed some flash to penetrate right into the black areas.
And you are still cropping out of camera proportions mmm?
Depth of Field in the top pick to me is great. I would now want the complete worm in focus. I would however want the head in focus.
The second shot is brilliant. Love the colors and sharpness and even the tight crop. Well done. You inspire me to go mount my macro lens again!

I love 2. Sharp as tack and the drops make the whole pic. Great photo. Don’t want in my garden too
Beautiful subject, lovely to capture
the hairy worm with dew drops on, clear, colourful and sharp. Agree with too tightly cropped.
