Where shutterbugs unite to share their wisdom, skills and resources

While taking photos in Old Town, San Diego, CA, I crossed the paths of these two fine and elegant young ladies, all dressed up. The hesitantly agreed to me taking the photo. It was worth the effort to convince them!
Excellent!
I’m crazy about this image, Francois – environmental as can be and it is made all the better with the ‘retro’ type colour rendition that perfectly suits the image. Vignette works well to emphasize the subjects.I hope you got their contact info as I’d love to hear what their reaction was on seeing the image which they posed so ‘reluctantly’ for! AN yes, a dedicated tog often needs some other life skills as well
Hallo Pikkie, Just received a comment back from them. Part of the negotiation was that I must forward them a photo. They like and love it!
Francois – I like this – its so different …. VVWD!
Great image Francois. Agree with all above.
NICE! Like Frank Senatra would say it! Love the colour rendition. Personally, I would render it a portrait crop, just past the bench on the left (keeping the palm leaf in) and past the window frame on the right!
Hi Callie, in this case it was important for me to keep them within the environment. By cropping I would have totally destroyed the ‘old feel’ of the composition as well as the feeling of ‘space’.
I’m sure the two ladies loved the photo – it is an absolute cracker of a picture Francois – WD.
Wonderful period shot, albeit in modern times. The pp is wonderfully subtle and effective at blending the image and emotive feel. WD. (Side note; I went to Old Town in Sacremento some years back, without a camera, thanks for the reminder, I’m still kicking myself, lol)
Without a camera – I try so hard but never learn!
Francois, I love this photo. The photo would not have been the same without the scene that goes with it.
Nice! It makes me feel like going on a girls’ tea party in some old fashioned coffe shop.
Great shot !! VVWD…
